Sometimes, our clients will run into the need to have a new dishwasher installed. If you have never done it before, it can feel like a daunting task. However, if you are willing to press through the fear, then you can do it yourself for sure.

Where to begin? Usually, it begins by taking out the old dishwasher. You will want to go under the sink and look for the drainage pipe that is going into your garbage disposal. Disconnect this pipe. Also, there should be a hose that is going to your water supply. Disconnect this hose as well. Following this, you can begin pulling out your dishwasher. Often times, it is only going to go out a few feet. The dishwasher is still connected to the electrical outlet. At this moment, you will want to cut off your power. Find the electrical box in your home and cut off all of the power. Take a flashlight and begin looking at your dishwasher. At the front of the dishwasher there should be a power box where your wires run into it. Disconnect the wires from the electrical outlet. Following this, you are ready to go to install the new dishwasher.

Installing the new dishwasher- Begin with making your hose connections. You need to remember the hoses that you disconnected. These will help you to see what you need to do with regards to connecting the hoses. Connect these hoses to your dishwasher. You will have to wait to connect them to the garbage disposal while you connect the power supply. Reconnect the power supply to the dishwasher. Following this, you can go to your electrical box and switch on all of the power. You should be good to go to now with pushing into the area it needs to go. Then, connect the two hoses to the appropriate places. Turn it on and see how it goes. Keep an eye out for any dispersed water.
